These terms govern your use of the Alderwyn Brook website and your participation in our financial education programmes. Please read them carefully before proceeding.
Last Updated: March 2025
I. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Alderwyn Brook website at alderwyn, or by enrolling in any of our educational programmes, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should not use our website or enrol in our programmes. These terms apply to all visitors, enquirers, and programme participants.
Alderwyn Brook reserves the right to amend these terms at any time. The revised version will be published on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our website or services following any revision constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
II. Educational Services
Alderwyn Brook provides structured financial education programmes designed to improve participants' understanding of personal finance, market concepts, and long-term planning within the Malaysian context. Our programmes include:
- Overture: Personal Finance Introduction — an introductory study of household financial organisation
- Second Movement: Market Studies — a descriptive examination of market behaviour and Malaysian market features
- Finale: Lifetime Planning Studies — an extended study of retirement, legacy, and intergenerational planning
All programme descriptions, formats, and materials are subject to revision. Alderwyn Brook will communicate material changes to enrolled participants in advance where practicable.
III. Enrolment and Payment
Enrolment in any programme is subject to availability and confirmation by Alderwyn Brook. Submission of an enquiry or expression of interest does not constitute a binding enrolment.
Programme fees are as published on our website at the time of enrolment confirmation. All prices are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.
Payment terms, accepted payment methods, and instalment options (where available) will be communicated at the time of enrolment confirmation. Enrolment is confirmed upon receipt of the applicable fee or first instalment.
IV. Cancellation and Refunds
If you wish to withdraw from a programme after enrolment, the following conditions apply:
- Cancellation more than 14 days before the programme commencement date: a full refund less any administrative processing fee, as communicated at enrolment
- Cancellation within 14 days of programme commencement: a partial refund may be offered at Alderwyn Brook's discretion, depending on programme preparation status
- Cancellation after programme commencement: no refund will ordinarily be issued, except in circumstances of documented medical necessity or force majeure
Refund requests must be submitted in writing to [email protected]. Alderwyn Brook will endeavour to process approved refunds within 14 business days of confirmation.
Alderwyn Brook reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a programme due to insufficient enrolment or unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, enrolled participants will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to the next available cohort.
V. Participant Conduct
Participants in Alderwyn Brook programmes are expected to engage respectfully with facilitators and fellow participants. We ask that all interactions, whether in-person or through digital study tools, reflect the considered and collegial tone of our programmes.
Alderwyn Brook reserves the right to remove a participant from a programme without refund if their conduct materially disrupts the learning environment or violates applicable laws or our stated conduct standards.
Participants must not record, reproduce, or distribute any session content, written materials, or proprietary curriculum without prior written consent from Alderwyn Brook.
VI. Intellectual Property
All content on the Alderwyn Brook website and within our programme materials — including text, illustrations, curriculum structure, workbooks, and terminology — is the intellectual property of Alderwyn Brook or its licensed contributors.
Participants receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use programme materials for their personal educational purposes only. This licence does not permit reproduction for commercial use, redistribution, or public dissemination.
The Alderwyn Brook name, logo, and programme titles are proprietary marks. Their use in any form without written permission is not permitted.
VII. Educational Disclaimer
Alderwyn Brook provides financial education — that is, structured learning designed to improve general understanding of financial topics. We do not provide financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, legal advice, or any form of personalised recommendation.
Nothing in our programmes, materials, website content, or facilitator communications should be construed as a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any specific financial product, security, or asset class.
Participants are encouraged to consult appropriately licensed financial advisers, tax professionals, or legal practitioners for personalised guidance specific to their circumstances. All financial decisions remain the sole responsibility of the individual concerned.
VIII. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, Alderwyn Brook shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising from participation in our programmes or use of our website — including, without limitation, any financial decisions made by participants following their studies.
Our total liability to any participant in connection with a programme shall not exceed the fee paid by that participant for the specific programme in question.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
IX. Changes to Terms
Alderwyn Brook may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page. For enrolled participants, material changes will be communicated by email where practicable. Continued participation in a programme following notification of updated terms constitutes acceptance of those terms.
X. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from or related to these terms or your participation in an Alderwyn Brook programme shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
